THE LANGUAGE WE ARE WORKING WITH / CANONICAL VOCABULARY V1
A living glossary.
Words shape the question. Here is how RE-Thinker uses them today. Where David used different words before, we keep his wording and show the source when we have it.

Alignment
A condition in which choices, behaviors, or systems operate in greater coherence with the realities governing the human or surrounding system. In RE-Thinker, alignment is evaluated partly through outcomes, not merely claimed intentions.
The proposed underlying architecture of original intent: the idea that human beings, relationships, creation, and social systems operate according to realities that precede our preferences. The Blueprint is a theological/philosophical interpretation investigated through observable patterns; it should not be presented as scientifically proven.
The larger pattern or conclusion that becomes visible after enough bricks have accumulated. RE-Thinker tries not to show the house before the reader has had a chance to see its shape.
In RE-Thinker, both the biblical Garden and a symbol of original intent: humanity, creation, relationship, and purpose before fracture. Eden is less a destination than a reference point for asking what restoration would mean.
Information externally supportable through credible research, documented history, data, or observable fact. Evidence must remain distinct from philosophical or theological interpretation.
A condition in which life retains or expands healthy capacity across multiple dimensions - biological, psychological, relational, generational, societal, and spiritual. It is broader than immediate pleasure or individual preference.
The practice of using a worldview not merely to defend beliefs but to investigate patterns and outcomes in reality. The term originates in Parables & Parallels, where the emphasis is on examining trace evidence in the effects produced by ideas and behaviors.
A break in alignment whose consequences often migrate beyond the original choice or location. A fracture may appear biologically, psychologically, relationally, economically, ecologically, generationally, or culturally.
Not merely the ability to satisfy a present desire, but the preservation of meaningful capacity to choose a future. The Blueprint states the distinction sharply: freedom is the ability to choose a future.

“Freedom is the ability to choose a future.” — The Blueprint, PDF page 15. The source is OCR derived; verify the original page for an exact quotation.
Anything that slows the path between desire and action. Friction may be destructive, unnecessary, or oppressive - but it may also protect reflection, restraint, safety, and future capacity. Its value must be tested by function and outcome.
A connection, distinction, or observation that reveals something previously obscured. Insight is not certainty. A genuine insight should remain willing to be tested and disrupted.
Information discovered about reality. In the older Parables & Parallels framework, knowledge primarily describes discovery within the world as experienced.
The designed condition, function, or purpose toward which restoration points. RE-Thinker frequently asks not simply “What is happening?” but “What would healthy or intended operation look like?”
The effects actually produced by a behavior, idea, technology, policy, or system. Outcomes do not automatically reveal motive or moral status, but they provide evidence about structure that intentions alone cannot.
Bringing a derivation back into agreement with what is true or intended. Earlier work uses the image of reconciling an account: the discrepancy is brought back into alignment with the true balance. In RE-Thinker, this becomes a systems metaphor for repair.
The recovery of value, purpose, or possibility from something damaged, captive, or misused. It is restoration with the added dimension of rescue or reclamation.
A return toward intended operation rather than the invention of an entirely different nature. Parables & Parallels uses the image of restoring weathered paint so the original condition becomes visible again.
The active repair of fracture toward original intent and renewed flourishing. Restoration is not mere nostalgia or return to a historical era; it asks what recovery of intended function would look like now.
The most radical RE word: life after what appeared irretrievably lost. Within the framework it remains a theological term, while also carrying the broader pattern of renewal beyond apparent finality.
A change in direction produced by better contact with reality. The opposite of a worldview that must continually rearrange inconvenient facts to preserve itself.
A newer RE-Thinker systems term. Healthy systems are not simply “open” or “closed.” They maintain boundaries while permitting ordered exchange. The distinction emerged from later biology/electrolyte conversations and should not be attributed to older source texts.
The interacting dimensions through which human choice produces consequence. The Blueprint identifies Biological, Psychological, Generational, Societal, Spiritual, and Self Spheres.
Limits, feedback loops, or structures that preserve capacity across the spheres. What the will experiences as restriction may sometimes function as protection.
The proposition that some ancient moral or relational commands may contain structural functions - protecting bodies, families, communities, resources, attention, or future capacity - not merely arbitrary rules. This is a hypothesis to investigate through outcomes rather than assume.
A Blueprint term for pleasure taken out of sequence: present enjoyment pursued in a way that exchanges future capacity for immediate relief or stimulation.
The tendency toward breakdown, disorder, or loss of usable capacity over time. In RE-Thinker it is also used as a systems metaphor for forms of avoidable or accelerated deterioration.
A behavior, structure, or intervention that moves a fractured system toward greater health, coherence, or intended function. The term must not imply that one intervention works universally.
The required act of trying to break an emerging RE-Thinker pattern with counterexamples, contrary evidence, boundary conditions, or alternative explanations.
A way of seeing before it is a set of conclusions. The Blueprint describes the hope that readers carry this strategy into their own lives - not as a weapon, but as a way to protect freedom in themselves and others.
People who notice connections across knowledge domains, test them, refine them, and apply them toward restoration rather than merely accumulating information. This grows directly out of the “men and women of understanding” language in Parables & Parallels.
